About Thanet, Kent
Thanet is the name of the north-eastern corner of Kent and encompasses the towns of Birchington, Westgate-on-Sea, Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate.
Both Margate and Ramsgate enjoy colourful nightlife with theatre shows, nightclubbing, casinos, cinemas, bowling alleys and pubs (some with live music). Margate's old town has enjoyed a recent renaissance and offers boutique shops, cafes, a real ale pub and art galleries including the Turner Contemporary.
Broadstairs and Westgate-on-Sea allow you to experience a slower pace of life and take you back in time with sheltered bays, picturesque seafronts and old-style cinemas.
